| Geoff shaw survives expulsion vote in victorian parliament
The Australian Taxpayers Union today announced the outcome of the vote, which was held by a margin of 4,622 votes to 1.
Mr Shaw had been expelled in May after being found guilty of having breached a parliamentary act.
He was then suspended from the Liberal National party following the expulsion.
The suspension was overturned by the court last week, however the party will now need to find another member in its new frontbench, the Senate, to replace Mr Shaw.
The party's leader, Nick Xenophon, welcomed the decision, saying: "I commend the Victorian Government for acting to put its reputation first and ensuring Geoff Shaw's expulsion goes no further."
He also thanked Mr Shaw and Liberal Senator Ian Macdonald, who were expelled in May, for their friendship and cooperation.
