   Ffa bans accused match fixers

FIFA has banned 20 of the nation's biggest clubs for six years for betting irregularities, according to a report by the FA on Thursday.

The punishment is less than the 14-year bans that former Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool defender Gary Lineker received for betting allegations during his spell with both club clubs in the 1990s.

While the FA will have no comment after the final review of the allegations, the newspaper said the punishment could be "exceedingly harsh."

Fifa officials told AFP: "It is a very positive step that will bring about reform."

FIFA president Sepp Blatter said: "I have great optimism that FIFA will have taken meaningful actions against a big number of football associations for the sake of the whole game."

Lineker was suspended from the England national team for a year for alleged match fixing before his retirement, and was given the same penalty for a second ban in 1998.

Blatter said FIFA had made changes "in response to an international problem with betting by teams."

"We have decided to put a much harsher penalty on those who have been found guilty of cheating against other clubs, associations or football teams," he added.

FIFA said the move would help "raise awareness and increase conviction of the appropriate sanction for those who were found guilty."

The ban will be effective for six years, after which it will be possible to appeal if the allegations are proven correct.

The Football Association was ordered by UEFA last year to ban 19 clubs from the Champions League for the next five seasons over match fixing claims. The FA have had three years to appeal their decision, which has been upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

In the first of three reports on Monday into allegations of match-fixing at FIFA, the report found "imperfections" in how the sport's governing body organises the awarding of international contracts, especially in light of the increasing influence of money at FIFA.

The scandal came to the public's attention only in 2014, and involved a long-time FIFA employee and former player known as Guillermo Delillo, who was given a jail term for his part in one of the largest match-fixing cases in history.

That same year, former French soccer player Michel Platini, a senior FIFA official and one of the main players in the investigations, was found guilty of fixing the 1994 World Cup.

Last June, U.S. investigators said they wanted to see evidence of "more extensive" corruption at the top levels of world football to convince the U.S. congress and Congress of th

Buying versus renting property dead money is different for everyone, but here's a look at some key concepts, before you get too hung up on it all:

Your property values will rise, because you're earning rent and/or selling at a premium.

If you have more money and have a property portfolio than you need to, you can build more property over time, which will boost your net worth and/or the net worth of all the other tenants in your neighborhood. Or you could consider investing in commercial real estate (or rent-controlled real estate), which could help you accumulate income sooner.

There's nothing wrong with looking to increase your cash flow during this time. I believe that it will bring you more out of your property portfolio, and that makes it more likely to buy property. After all, there's always a better deal if there's always cash on the table.

You should expect some negative impact from your property-acquisition plan because the housing market is notoriously volatile, and you might end up using a lot more of your home in an acquisition than you intended. Also, don't go off on an acquisition binge just yet: this is when your real estate agent is usually already advising you about the "big bang" property you should get.

Your investment returns would be better if you had cash and/or rental income to spend ” and if you were able to get an appreciation in value while you were buying. Your principal investment (property) should become significantly more valuable as you build out your investment portfolio. However, if you're just renting out that property to pay for your monthly utility bills or maybe purchase groceries, consider taking out a small mortgage to partially cover the difference between your purchase price and your landlord's rate.

Once again, though, the important lesson to take away from this section is that you should have a long, healthy rental period to assess your equity and net worth before making any final decisions.

What can I buy for rent?

What if I'm just building up my equity? Can I buy property that's worth more than I need to earn it? Not necessarily, but if you're a homeowner looking for an investment in the rental market, you can look for a variety of choices.

If you're looking for rental property, you should be comfortable with making your initial investment in advance. It will be significantly easier to make the payments required once you've built your property's value.

However, in most cases, renting out your apartment will be the only way to meet your rental income needs, since the market will be far more forgiving of the amount you owe. If you're really struggling financially, you may consider turning to a different type of investment ” a "rental property loan." In thi
